Algae don’t bloom on sunlight alone — they bloom on phosphorus. UltraPHOSx 5000 takes that fuel off the table. Our high-basicity UltraPHOSx 5000 binds dissolved and particulate phosphorus into a stable, insoluble form, then settles it out and keeps it locked in the sediment where it can’t feed the next bloom. The result is clearer water, fewer blooms, and lasting control of the internal phosphorus load that conventional treatments leave behind.
Product Highlights
UltraPHOSx 5000’s high basicity means it neutralizes far less alkalinity than alum per unit of aluminum, so it removes phosphorus without driving down pH.
Phosphorus reacts with the aluminum to precipitate as a highly insoluble aluminum phosphate, while the rest forms an aluminum-hydroxide floc that adsorbs additional phosphorus. That settled floc keeps binding phosphorus released from the sediment under low-oxygen conditions — turning a one-time dose into long-term internal-load control, not a temporary fix.
Industries & Uses
Tanks may be constructed of fiberglass/epoxy or lined steel; polypropylene or polyethylene tanks have also been used. Schedule 80 PVC or polymer-lined piping is suitable, as are glass-reinforced plastic and hard rubber.
