Silicate phosphate blends pair sodium silicate with a phosphate fraction so two mechanisms work at once: silica deposits a protective layer across pipe interiors while phosphate passivates lead and copper directly, with the blend also sequestering iron and manganese.
The blend earns its place in two situations. Where a wastewater phosphate limit or a nutrient-removal requirement caps how much phosphate a system can feed, silicate carries part of the protective load at a lower phosphate dose. Where phosphate alone has plateaued short of the target, adding silicate gives the program a second mechanism instead of simply raising the residual. Silicate performs best in higher-pH water, so we bench the blend against your own chemistry — pH, alkalinity, silica, and hardness — and set the silicate-to-phosphate ratio from that result rather than from a standard formula.
Optimal corrosion control treatment engineered to hold lead below the new 10 ppb action level.

About Silicate Phosphate
Why add silicate to a phosphate program?
Silicate deposits a protective silica layer on pipe interiors, which works alongside phosphate passivation rather than replacing it. That second mechanism helps where phosphate dose is capped or where phosphate alone has stopped producing improvement.
Does silicate reduce how much phosphate we feed?
It can. Systems with a wastewater phosphate limit or a nutrient-removal requirement often use a blend to keep protection while holding phosphate dose down. The trade-off is set on the bench, not by rule of thumb.
What water chemistry favors a silicate blend?
Silicate performs best in higher-pH water, and its benefit varies with alkalinity, native silica, and hardness. We bench the blend against your raw and finished water before recommending a ratio.
Will silicate interfere with our phosphate residual monitoring?
No. Phosphate residuals are measured as usual, and we profile them so the corrosion-control fraction stays verifiable independent of the silicate contribution.
Is this product NSF certified for drinking water?
Yes, it is certified to ANSI/NSF/CAN Standard 60 for drinking water treatment chemicals.
What packaging is available?
