DelPAC® XG

Back To Products

Aluminum chlorohydrate — ACH — is a high-basicity, pre-hydrolyzed aluminum salt with the general formula Al₂(OH)₅Cl·2H₂O. It's the most concentrated soluble aluminum-based coagulant available, and its charge density is the highest of any coagulant on the market.

That combination does two things for you. You dose less to hit the same result, which cuts storage volume and truck traffic. And because the HCl is already largely neutralized, ACH barely moves finished-water pH, so you can often stop feeding caustic or lime altogether.

ACH works across a broad pH range and holds performance in low-alkalinity source water where alum struggles. We manufacture it as DelPAC® XG, certified to AWWA Standard B408-25 and compliant with NSF/ANSI/CAN 60 at a maximum dose of 250 mg/L.

We also produce catalyst-grade ACH for aluminum catalyst manufacturing, with specifications built to the customer's process.

Why choose ACH over other aluminum coagulants?

  • Highest charge neutralization available. More positive charge per gallon delivered means lower dose rates and less inventory.
  • Minimal pH depression. High basicity means little to no alkalinity supplementation, and fewer chemicals to manage.
  • Effective in low-alkalinity water. Where alum consumes the alkalinity you don't have, ACH doesn't.
  • Wide operating pH band. Performance holds as source water shifts seasonally.
  • Strong, dense floc. Better settling and dewatering, with less sludge to haul.
  • Certified for potable use. AWWA B408-25 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 60

Product Highlights

One of the biggest challenges that food producers face is meeting regulators' Biological Oxygen Demand effluent limits cost-effectively. Ineffective treatment can result in legal action, increased costs, and environmental damage.

DelPAC® XG offers a cost-effective and efficient solution to the problem. DelPAC® XG is a powerful Aluminum-based coagulant with the highest charge neutralization profile of any coagulant on the market, which means; less coagulant needed, reduced storage requirements, and fewer trucks on the road.

Effective control not only reduces BOD levels but also removes other impurities such as heavy metals, oils, and grease, making it an ideal solution for industrial wastewater treatment.

Implementation is made seamless with the team of specialists at Usalco and the largest and most experienced distributor network in the United States.

With its excellent performance and cost-effectiveness, Delpac XG can help industries meet BOD effluent limits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while helping customers actively participate in fostering a cleaner and healthier environment.

Industries & Uses

Storage Tanks & Piping

Tanks may be constructed of fiberglass/epoxy, or lined steel. Polypropylene or polyethylene tanks have also been used. Schedule 80 PVC or polymer lined piping can be used. Glass reinforced plastic or hard rubber are also suitable materials for piping.

Applicable Processes
  • Drinking water treatment
Turbidity, TOC, and DOC removal with minimal pH adjustment. ACH is a strong fit for utilities working toward tighter DBP precursor control without adding a caustic feed.
  • Municipal wastewater
Phosphorus removal, TSS reduction, and struvite control. The high charge density holds up under variable influent.
  • Food and beverage
Meeting BOD effluent limits is the hard part, and it’s where ACH does its best work. It pulls BOD along with heavy metals, oils, and grease, which keeps you out of the enforcement conversation.
  • Chemical and refining
Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC), hydrocracking, hydrotreating, isomerization, reforming, and desiccant purification.
  • Catalyst manufacturing
Catalyst-grade ACH produced at multiple Usalco facilities, manufactured to customer specification.
