USALCO is a leading manufacturer of aluminum-based chemicals, such as Sodium Aluminate and Aluminum Sulfate, which are used in a wide variety of applications. Our primary applications are as follows:
- Water Treatment: Our products help produce clean water for drinking and manufacturing. We also have chemicals for algae control in lakes, ponds, and other bodies of water.
- Wastewater Treatment: Our products are intended for wastewater treatment plants for municipalities and industry. USALCO products improve water clarity, increase water filterability, and reduce sludge production.
- Industrial Applications: We specialize in products for the manufacture of catalysts, titanium dioxide, and molecular sieves. They are used in concrete admixtures, refractory cements, and industrial detergent compounds. We also offer products used in environmentally friendly, water based drilling mud and for cement accelerators for oil field applications like lost circulation.
Another important application is the production of alumina powder, which is used in refining catalysts for making fuels from lower quality oils and heavier distillates. The technology will continue to evolve and demand for these catalysts will grow as higher quality crude oils are depleted; and as oil becomes more difficult and expensive to find.
Alumina powders are used to make wash coat catalysts. Wash coat catalysts are used in catalytic converters. Catalytic converters reduce harmful emissions produced from automobiles and trucks. This technology too will continue to evolve and the demand is expected to grow as emerging economies produce more automobiles and “clean” diesel fuels are more widely used.
